FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES

INFANT ONE (6weeks – 12months) & INFANT TWO (12months – 18months)

Our loving caregivers are experienced and well-trained in Infant Care and Development. We do more than meet your child’s basic needs. Your child participates in a varied and stimulating experience in an atmosphere of love. The low child-to-adult ratio gives caregivers and your child opportunities to bond. The caregivers plan individualized activities that welcome your baby’s development, personal style, strengths, and limitations, so that he/she progresses from one developmental level to another.

TVLC emphasizes parent and staff communication. Upon enrollment, each family fills out, and updates regularly our "Infant Information Record" and "Infant Feeding Schedule". This helps us work effectively with your child by helping us understand your child's patterns of eating, sleeping, and eliminating. Each day you take home an "Infant Daily Experience" sheet; this tells you how your child's patterns have affected them during the day. We ask that you discuss your child's needs and keep the communication open. Our goal is to work with you to provide the best care possible for your child.

TODDLERS (18months – 2 1/2years)

We now know that the first three years of life are more critical to a child's development that we ever imagined. Research tells us that more rapid brain development takes place during these years than any other time of life. During this period, children are discovering who they are, how others respond to them, and if they are competent. They are also learning how to relate to others, what it means to express their feelings, and whether they are loved. Their brains are being "wired" into patterns for emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development.

Our program is based on accepted theories of child development. We provide a variety of toys and materials that are both stimulating and familiar, in a safe and healthy environment. The program we pursue helps children develop habits of observation questioning and listening. TVLC's curriculum is planned for the children to use their intellectual and creative abilities in future learning tasks. We are committed to offering a high-quality program for toddlers and their families.

YOUNG PRESCHOOL (30months – 3years)
PRESCHOOL (3 by October 1st)
PREKINDERGARTEN (4 by October 1st)

TVLC depends on a curriculum foundation that sets forth the program’s philosophies, goals and objectives. It addresses all aspects of a child’s development socio-emotional, cognitive, and physical. It provides the framework for what actually happens in a planned environment where children interact with materials, peers, and adults. Our primary teaching goal is to help young children use the environment productively and see themselves as capable learners as individuals who are developing the skills and gaining the knowledge that will enable them to make sense of the work and to succeed in it. Children learn from their daily interactions with the environment. We carefully organize our classrooms into focus or interest areas. This includes: math/blocks, role-play, art, science, writing, library, music and movement, computers, and outdoor play. By focusing on the developmental progress of each child, our curriculum offers an ideal setting for all children including those with disabilities.

KINDERGARTEN & KINDERGARTEN ENRICHMENT (5 by October 1st)

Full Day Kindergarten:

Our Kindergarten curriculum is a comprehensive reading-language arts and mathematics program. It contains and correlates reading, handwriting, and auditory and oral language skills. We use problem-solving activities, which involve situations, and challenges that children face in their everyday lives. Above all, TVLC's curriculum fosters a high-degree of involvement and motivation, so vital for success at this early stage of learning.

Kindergarten Goals are:

  • To inspire children to grow in all areas of development; cognitive, social, emotional, physical
  • To instill the desire to learn about self and the world around us
  • To encourage desirable social habits, and promote a feeling of security within a group
  • To foster an atmosphere where children develop positive self-images
  • To help children acquire skills required for success in first grade

Language Arts, Handwriting, Mathematics, Science, Fine and Gross Motor Development, Social Studies, and Emotional Growth, are all emphasized in the curriculum. More detail will be explained when touring the school.

TVLC’s Enrichment Programs are staffed with caring adults who offer positive learning opportunities before and after school. While at work, parents can be assured that their child is in a safe supportive environment that will enrich their lies and turn them on to success. TVLC’s Enrichment Programs are more than just child care or a place to do homework. TVLC offers educational experiences to further develop skills learned at school. Our curriculum teaches respect for others and enables children to build upon the values practiced at home. Through individual interaction with nurturing adults, our center enables students to grow into positive confident community members. Social skills are enhanced through positive peer interaction in a supervised atmosphere. Outside activities, including non-competitive sports and nature walks on our 15 acre campus, build large muscle skills and strengthen physical flexibility. Inside activity centers afford students opportunities for both quiet breaks and healthy, boisterous moments to transition from the school day.
